In this article, we will describe the electric vehicle charging procedures defined in ISO/IEC 15118 and related standards.
Vehicle gun insertion, first relying on IEC61851 control guidance recognition hardware connection, through PLC-SLAC power line carrier network; Then complete device discovery through SDP and establish a TLS secure encrypted channel. The upper level ISO/IEC 15118 is responsible for the vehicle ↔ Charging pile interaction; The charging station then reports the charging data to the grid operator through IEC 61850.
The complete conversation is divided into three stages:
protocol handshake, service discovery, identity authentication, PnC plug and play verification, negotiation of charging voltage and current parameters.
Cable detection, pre charge safety verification, periodic transmission of current demand by the vehicle, supporting forward charging and V2G reverse discharge.
During the entire process of vehicle pile interaction, EVSE synchronously reports to the grid operator using IEC61850: vehicle access status, battery SOC, real-time power, and metering information. The power grid implements load monitoring and V2G scheduling based on these data.
ISO15118 enables bidirectional charging and discharging sessions between vehicles and charging stations; IEC61850 connects charging stations and power dispatch links, and the two sets of standards work together to achieve V2G vehicle network interaction.
