EVCC Controller DC Fast Charger ISO 15118 EV Communication Controller for EV Truck, Bus
Electric Vehicle Charging Controller (EVCC)
MIDA EVCC is a standard ECU for 24V environments. It realizes electrical charging according to DIN SPEC 70121 and ISO 15118 for power line communication (PLC) with the infrastructure. Sensata’s EVCC includes an integrated flash bootloader and a modern MICROSAR stack with all relevant application modules.

1,EVCC Function
Because national standard electric vehicles cannot be directly exported abroad, they must be equipped with an EVCC to establish communication with overseas charging stations. The EVCC is a key controller in the electric vehicle charging process, serving as the communication bridge between the electric vehicle and the charging station. Its primary function is to convert the electric vehicle's communication protocol into a protocol understood by the charging station. This enables communication, power transmission control, and data exchange between the electric vehicle and the charging system. The EVCC also monitors the electric vehicle's battery capacity, controls charging power and time, and records data for subsequent analysis and management. This is shown in Figure 3.
2,The Electric Vehicle Communication Controller
(EVCC) is a comprehensive solution supporting CCS1 and CCS2 inlets. There are multiple charging standards in the global electric vehicle market, such as China's GB/T 27930, Europe's DIN 70121 and ISO 15118, the United States' SAE J1772, and Japan's CHAdeMO. These standards differ in communication protocols, voltage levels, charging interfaces, etc., which means that electric vehicles that meet national standards cannot be directly charged at overseas charging stations after being exported.
3,How to convert Chinese electric vehicles to European and American standards through EVCC requires both hardware and software work.
Hardware:
First, replace the charging station with a European or American standard.
Second, add an EVCC charging communication controller.
Software:
The EVCC requires communication with the BMS, converting Chinese CAN communication to PLC communication that complies with international standards. This allows Chinese electric vehicles exported to markets like Europe and America to effectively communicate with local charging stations through the EVCC. This not only reduces costs but also accelerates the internationalization of electric vehicles.
4,EVCC Hardware Components
Simply put, it consists of five major modules: a microprocessor, a power module, a communication module, sensors, and a safety protection circuit.
