    Connecting a Liquid-Cooled CCS2 Charging Cable

    Understanding the System: Liquid-cooled charging cables have both a power connector and a separate, smaller liquid connector for the cooling circuit. These connectors are drip-proof for safer maintenance.
    Connecting the Cooling Line: Locate the liquid-cooling connectors on the charging station's charging cable and the vehicle's charging port. Push them together until they click or lock into place to establish the coolant connection.
    Connecting the Power Cable: After connecting the cooling line, connect the CCS2 main power plug to the vehicle's charging port as you would any other charging cable.
    Starting Charging: The charging station system detects the power connection and active cooling circuit before starting charging.
    How Liquid Cooling Works
    Dissipation: A coolant (typically a water and glycol mixture) circulates through channels in the charging cable and connector, absorbing heat generated by the high-power current directly where it is generated.
    Returning and Cooling: The heated liquid then flows back to the cooling unit (typically located within the charging station or integrated into the charging unit), where it cools before returning through the cable to continue the charging process. Advantages: This system enables higher charging speeds and can support power levels up to 800kW or more because it prevents the cable from overheating. It also makes the cable thinner, lighter, and easier to handle.

    To use a CCS2 liquid-cooled charging cable, you connect it to the electric vehicle's DC fast charging port just like a regular CCS2 cable, but the liquid cooling system is built in and automatically managed by the charger and cable. This system uses a closed-loop coolant that circulates between the charger, cable, and connector to dissipate heat, enabling higher power levels (up to 800kW) and faster charging speeds without overheating.

    To use a liquid-cooled CCS2 charging cable, connect the charging unit's liquid cooling port to the corresponding port on the vehicle's charging system. The system uses a liquid-cooled cable with dedicated cooling channels that connect to the vehicle's cooling circuit, circulating coolant to dissipate the heat generated during high-speed DC fast charging. No separate cooling unit is required; the cooling system is integrated into both the charging station and the cable.
